We bring together various hotels from around Chiang Mai in Thailand (other destinations coming spring 2010) which have a common goal - to reduce the negative impact their operations have on local people and the environment in order to protect our planet for future generations.
We carefully vet each individual Green hotel in our directory based on our own detailed criteria and provide a simple 'Green Star Hotel Rating' so that you can easily search for a green hotel where you wish to travel, whilst giving you all the information you need to make an informed decision about where to stay.

By staying at a Green hotel you're supporting properties that are making a concerted effort to reduce the negative effects of travel on people and the environment.
As more and more of us choose to stay in Green hotels, it sends out a clear message to all hoteliers that we are all concerned about the environment and want to know that hotels are doing what they can for the environment. As bookings increase in Green hotels (as do their profits) this in turn encourages other hotels to quickly adapt to being Green by putting positive measures in place in their own hotels.

How we help hotels
TravelAware supports member hotels at all stages in their efforts to become more green.
We understand that hotel owners, managers, engineers and housekeepers simply do not have the time to research best practices when it comes to the environment which is where we try to help.
All Green hotel members upon entry to our Green hotel directory complete a detailed questionnaire to establish what measures they currently have in place and then receive a comprehensive information pack full of great tips and advice on water saving, energy saving and waste reduction and much more. We keep in close contact with our member hotels with our quarterly newsletters and support and advice.
We provide the framework for our hotels to understand what's possible, what the benefits are and provide them with the resources to find out more and act.
New Green hotel directory coming soon!!
We are very excited to tell you that in February 2010 we will be launching a completely new interactive green hotels directory with increased tools and benefits for our users. We have listened carefully to you and our member hotels and the general consensus was that you want to see more hotels in more destinations. Therefore we will expanding our green hotel directory to hotels worldwide and not just in Chiang Mai, Thailand - we can't do better than that now can we!.
